Downhole Motors
DOWNHOLE MOTORS
Full Metal Motor
Metal-to-metal technology for extreme environments
A highly specialized positive displacement motor engineered entirely without elastomers, rubber stators, or polymer O-rings. Designed for the most extreme wellbore conditions, where conventional mud motors would rapidly degrade or fail.
In a standard PDM, a steel rotor turns within an elastomer-lined stator. In the full metal motor, both rotor and stator are precision-machined, highly wear-resistant metal alloys. With no rubber to provide a compressive seal, the motor relies on microscopic clearances and the dynamic flow of drilling fluid to create the pressure seal between progressing cavities.
Features
- Extreme temperature tolerance — immune to elastomer thermal degradation
- Absolute chemical compatibility with corrosive fluids, acids and 100% nitrogen
- Zero risk of stator swell, chunking or lock-up downhole
