Locking Swivel Joint

Designed for deploying long tool strings. Used with a deployment sub, the tool string can be lowered into the wellbore and hung off in the blowout preventors on a set of slip rams.

The Locking Swivel Joint can then be made up to the tool string — pulling the coupling back, tightening the set screw and disengaging the clutch readies the upper string to be made up.
